Consortium invests EUR28m in personalised medicine
Geleen/Eindhoven/Leuven – Three Dutch public-private partnerships will invest EUR28m to push targeted delivery strategies for drugs, with the objective of reducing the required doses and minimising adverse reactions. The alliance, ncludes BMM, which focuses on regenerative medicines, the Center for Translational Molecular Medicine (CTMM), an initiative in molecular diagnostics and imaging, and TI Pharma, which concentrates on drug development, and will fund 7 projects primarily in the field of cardiovascular diseases and cancer. The research alliance will fund the following projects: Icarus, CellBeads, AmpVacs, Cancer Vaccine Tracking , and the HIFU-CHEM project: chemotherapy in focus (more), as well as the PC-Mabs, and Prograft projects (more). In total, the triple alliance bring together over 180 national and international partners from the public and private sector as well as 4 charitable foundations wih a combined total budget of almost EUR700m available for research projects over a 5-year period. Fifty percent of the total funding budget is provided by the Dutch government, with the remaining fifty percent being provided by the three institutes' academic and industrial partners.
